Family Law Attorney

Because I focus on family law, I not only know the legal issues involved in divorce, child custody and property division, but I also know what my clients are experiencing, as I have probably helped a client with a similar problem before. However, each case is unique, and I spend the time needed to learn the details and answer your questions thoroughly.
At Akiona Law, P.L.L.C., I advocate for clients in all family law matters, from divorce to post-divorce modifications. I also handle bankruptcy cases, concentrating on the role that financial challenges play in divorce and other family law matters.
An attorney since 2002, I began practicing law first in Hawaii and then in Washington in 2005. I have been a criminal prosecutor for the city and county of Honolulu, and a law clerk to a felony criminal court trial judge in Oahu. I also law clerked for two years before and after law school with the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission. My career as a legal advocate began in law school with my participation on the Native American Moot Court team. My diversity of legal experience, both oral and written, helps me advocate effectively for every client, whatever his or her background, ethnicity and economic status.

My Philosophy
When clients come to my Everett, Washington, office, they have many questions. They want to know about the process, my fees, the legal timetable, their rights, and the steps they can take to make the case stronger. I answer these questions and more, making sure they understand their options.
I represent men and women who are facing significant personal challenges. I am often struck by their honesty and openness. They put their children first and seek to do what's right. Like me, they focus on the results and the outcomes, looking to use the legal process as a tool and not a bludgeon. They appreciate the combination of reasonableness and tenacity that I offer them, and they know that I am dedicated to protecting their interests.
Office Details: Hours and Credit Cards

My goal is to provide you with legal representation that fits your needs and your schedule, and the information that allows you to make sound decisions about your situation.
I accept credit cards, including Visa and MasterCard.
