Biography

I am a compassionate and empathetic professional, and I founded Akiona Law, PLLC to fully realize my passion for helping people navigate the turbulent and uncertain waters of family law. My personal philosophy centers on ensuring that individuals are treated fairly, protected, and not taken advantage of during one of the most challenging times of their lives.

I strongly support and encourage parties to work together to resolve their issues, especially when children are involved. The fact of the matter is that when you have children, you will be connected to your former partner for the rest of your life. Because of this, I encourage clients to look toward the future and focus on what is truly in their children’s best interests.

This perspective isn't just professional for me—it's personal. Having gone through my own high-conflict divorce, I deeply understand how painful, isolating, and exhausting the process can be, even when it is the right decision. I know firsthand the emotional toll it takes, and that lived experience drives my commitment to helping clients find smoother, less destructive paths forward.

My extensive courtroom background means I do not shy away from high-conflict situations, and I know exactly what it takes to protect your rights. However, if you are looking for an attorney to be aggressive just for the sake of being aggressive, I am not the right fit. Overly aggressive tactics do a disservice to clients; unnecessary litigation skyrockets costs and inflicts deep emotional and mental stress on everyone involved. I firmly believe it is always better to "pick and choose your battles" wisely.

Choosing an attorney can be overwhelming. It is vital to find someone you trust and feel comfortable with, as you will be sharing intimate details about your life. To help you in your decision, let me tell you a little more about myself.

I split my time between the beautiful shores of Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest. My two sons are now in college, and while the fast-paced days of keeping up with toddlers are behind me, we remain incredibly close. We love getting together for family dinners and heading out into nature for camping trips. Whether I am enjoying the vibrant small-town warmth of Everett or spending time in Hawaii, I bring that same sense of community, family, and grounded empathy to every client I serve.
